MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641043157 A) filed by Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, on April 4, for 'assistive technology-based e-learning platform for differently-abled students.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Assistive Technology-Based E-Learning System assists learners with disabilities in achieving their learning goals. The present E-Learning platforms do not fully support the principle of inclusive education. This proposed system is arrayed with assistive technologies that enable learners to study and have fun interacting with the system by using voice, audio lessons, a PDF reader, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text. In addition, the proposed system includes a teacher panel that enables teachers to continue measuring students' achievements and to arrange quizzes and activities. Therefore, this proposed system aims to integrate various assistive technologies to enhance learners' accessibility."
