MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019772 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'assistive grass cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Sahdev Singh; Shivani Sharma; Alpana Joshi; and Vikas.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive grass cutting device, comprising an elongated extendable body 1 gripped by a user, a rectangular frame 4 installed with multiple cylindrical members 5, multiple omnidirectional wheels 6 for allowing user to maneuver frame 4, a camera 8 detecting user's height for extending and retracting for allowing user to comfortably grip body, a touch enabled screen 9 enabling a user to select length of grass to be cut for actuating a rack and pinion arrangement 10 for translating frame 4 towards/away, which in turn results in compression/expansion of spring 7, a speaker 11 notifying user to maneuver frame 4 on ground surface, a laser projection unit 12 mounted on frame 4 for projecting a laser beam on ground surface to guide user in following a straight path while cutting grass and a suction unit 13 for generating a vacuum pressure to withdraw and collect cut grass in a chamber."
