MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020049 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'assistive floor cleaning device.'
Inventor(s) include R. P. Agarwal; Naveen; Shamshad Hussain; and Dipika Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive floor cleaning device comprises of an extendable body 1 utilize to position over a ground surface, a handle 2 is attached at proximal portion of the body 1 for maneuvering the body 1 over the floor that is to be cleaned, an artificial intelligence based camera 3 mounted over the body 1 for detecting the user's height along with presence of dust and stains over surface, a projection unit 4 installed over the body 1 to project a light over an area where dust and stains are present for notifying the user, a pair of scotch yoke arrangement 5 installed at distal portion of the body 1 to translate the motion to a pair of wheels 6 towards the area, and a flap 7 installed with the body for cleaning dust."
