MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006952 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'assistive device for cutting leafy vegetables.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive device for cutting leafy vegetables, comprising a cuboidal body 1 with multiple supporting rods 2 supporting housing on surface, a sorted conveyor belt 3 installed within the body 1 for translating vegetables, an imaging unit 4 installed within the body 1 detecting spoiled leaves, a pair of clippers 5 installed on the body 1 for dispensing spoiled leaves into a waste chamber 6 arranged within the body 1, a robotic arm 7 embedded within the body 1 for aligning the leaves, a pair of rollers 8 arranged in continuation with the conveyor compressing the leaves, a cutting arrangement 9 installed in continuation with the rollers 8 for cutting leaves, a detachable container 10 arranged within the body 1 collecting chopped leaves and a display panel 11 assembled on the body 1 enabling user's input commands."
