MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006992 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'assistive device for attaining standing posture.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vinay Bhatia; Dr. Ankur Singhal; Dr. Saurabh Chaitanya; Shivam Pandey; Rohit Singh; Piyush Kumar; Onkar Puri; and Suryawanshi.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive device for attaining standing posture, comprising a L-shaped body 1 positioned with an edge of a resting platform, an inverted handle 2 attached with the body 1 accessed by a user for attaining standing posture, a camera 3 mounted over the body 1 for detecting width of edge of the platform, multiple pneumatically powered plates 4 attached with body 1 securing the body 1 with platform, plurality of motorized rollers 5 attached beneath the body 1 for maneuvering body 1 towards the user for accessing the handle 2, a microphone 7 installed over the body 1 detecting voice of persons present in proximity of the platform and notifying via a touch screen 8 mounted over the body 1 to lower the voice, a storage chamber 9 attached beneath the body 1 via a motorized slider 10 for translating chamber 9 towards the user for storing commodities."
