MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019830 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'assistive book holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Alakananda Tripathy.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive book holding device, comprising a rectangular base 101 configured with drawer mechanisms for enabling an adjustment of dimensions of base 101, a plurality of suction cups 102 for holding a book, pair of primary sliding units 103 and a pair of inverted U-shaped member 104 via telescopic rods 105, for positioning members 104 over arm rests of a chair, a pair of telescopic grippers 106 via primary ball and socket joints 107, for gripping onto legs of chair, an imaging unit 108 with a laser sensor to determine position and dimensions of chair, a pair of secondary sliding units 109 mounted on an upper surface of base 101 in a parallel manner, a plurality of clippers 110 via hinges for gripping book placed on base 101 and an L-shaped telescopic bar 111 by means of secondary ball and socket joint 112, and having a rectangular tray 113 at an end for flipping of a page of book."
