MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065124 A) filed by Lifetech Scientific (SHENZHEN) Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on July 8, for 'aspiration catheter.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A suction catheter (20), belonging to the technical field of medical instruments. The suction catheter (20) comprises a catheter base (200) and a catheter body (100) connected to each other. The catheter body (100) comprises a suction tube (110) and a guide wire tube (120). A distal end of the suction tube (110) is provided with a suction port (112), and the suction port (112) is arranged towards a side surface of the suction tube (110). The suction tube (110) comprises a supporting unit (130) and a sealing unit (140) arranged on the supporting unit (130). The hardness of the supporting unit (130) and/or the sealing unit (140) is sequentially reduced from a proximal end to the distal end. The hardness of a distal end of the catheter body (100) is low, such that the catheter body (100) has a good passing ability when passing through a bent blood vessel, and the part, in contact with an inner wall of the blood vessel, of the distal end of the catheter body (100) is softer, thereby causing relatively little irritation to the inner wall of the blood vessel during pushing, and being unlikely to cause secondary damage to the inner wall of the blood vessel."
