MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023991 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'asbestos roof cleaning device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An asbestos roof cleaning device, comprising, a rectangular shaped body 1 associated with the device developed to be positioned on an asbestos roof, wherein a handle 2 attached on front portion of the body 1 for allowing a user to grip to position the body 1 over the roof, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 3 installed on the body 1 for detecting dimension of curved portion of the roof, a drawer arrangement 4 installed on multiple semi-circular shaped rings 5 installed at base portion of the body 1 to extend the ring 5 as per determined dimension in order to successfully accommodate the body 1 over the roof in a secured manner, a dust sensor integrated on the ring 5 for determining presence of the dust over surface of the roof, and a suction unit installed on each of the ring 5 for drawing the dust."
