MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641007225 A) filed by Itechnologies & Services Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 24, for 'artificial intelligence maturity model (aimm) and its multi-domain applied frameworks.'

Inventor(s) include Partha Sarathy Iyengar; and Sathyanarayanan Raman.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a universal, layered Artificial Intelligence Maturity Model (AIMM-XX) that governs the design, deployment, and governance of AI systems through seven structured layers (L0-L6) encompassing data, workflow, model, runtime, optimization, and governance operations. Each layer incorporates measurable maturity checkpoints ensuring transparency, traceability, and ethical compliance in AI development. The AIMM-XX architecture is modular and extensible, enabling the creation of domainspecific applied frameworks such as AIMM-MS for Materials Science, AIMM-MF for Manufacturing, AIMM-HC for Healthcare, and AIMM-HS for Hospitality. These Applied AIMM Frameworks provide contextualized standards and KPIs for each sector while maintaining interoperability and auditability across the unified AIMM-XX structure. Additionally, AIMM-XX supports neural and cognitive applications under AIMM-NL, which integrates Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) paradigms including Steady-State Visual Evoked Potentials (SSVEP), Motor Imagery (MI), P300, Event-Related Potentials (ERP), and hybrid BCI architectures. The invention thereby establishes a cross-domain maturity and governance ecosystem that supports benchmarking, certification, and continuous improvement of AI readiness and reliability across diverse industries and research domains."
