MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113065 A) filed by IIMT College Of Engineering, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 17, 2025, for 'artificial intelligence-enabled traffic monitoring system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Pragyadeep.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a traffic monitoring system 100 and a method 200 for real-time monitoring and control of traffic flow at intersections. The system 100 includes a plurality of sensors 102 configured to capture traffic parameters, and at least one camera 104 configured to acquire image data of vehicular movement and roadway conditions. A processor 106 processes the collected data to identify individual vehicles, determine traffic density, and detect rule violations, including red-light jumping, over-speeding, and improper lane changes. The processor 106 further controls timing sequences of traffic signal lights based on traffic density and queue lengths, generates violation records including timestamp, vehicle identification, and type of infraction, and transmits the records and traffic control commands to a server (140) via a communication network (142). The system 100 also generates traffic status information, displays analytics on a dashboard."
