MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611000581 A) filed by Ct University, Ludhiana, Punjab, on Jan. 3, for 'artificial intelligence-based platform for integrated price and quality comparison of online retail products.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Arvind Kumar; Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur; Dr. Sapna Sharma; Dr. Anurag Sharma; Dr. Shivani Bhardwaj; and Dr. Sadhana.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is a platform based on artificial intelligence that makes it possible to compare online retail products across several e-commerce marketplaces. The platform integrates AI-driven quality rating from consumer reviews, photos, videos, and brand history with real-time pricing data. While computer vision examines product images for material quality, package consistency, and signs of counterfeiting, natural language processing extracts sentiment, durability concerns, and authenticity signals from reviews. To provide genuine value-for-money choices, a composite product score strikes a balance between price, quality, authenticity, sustainability, and user preferences. Additionally, the system offers warnings, price trend forecasts, and tailored recommendations. The platform reduces the risk of counterfeiting, increases transparency in digital commerce ecosystems, and empowers consumers, regulators, and brands to make informed decisions by going beyond price-only comparison."
