MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621022926 A) filed by Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology, Walwa, Maharashtra, on Feb. 26, for 'artificial intelligence-based magnetic automated curtain system for energy optimization.'

Inventor(s) include Ankita Hanmant Jadhav; Vaibhavi Subhash Mane; Shruti Anil Basugade; and Dr. Jayshree Sudhir Awati.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Artificial Intelligence-Based Magnetic Automated Curtain System for Energy Optimization This invention describes an Artificial Intelligence-Based Magnetic Actuated Automated Curtain System configured to optimize indoor environmental conditions in residential and commercial buildings. The system employs a magnetically responsive curtain structure cooperatively interacting with an electromagnet-based track mechanism to achieve motorless, low-noise linear displacement. Integrated light and temperature sensing enable continuous monitoring of ambient conditions, while a machine learning control unit processes real-time and historical data to determine adaptive curtain positioning. The system autonomously regulates sunlight ingress to enhance natural illumination, reduce thermal load, and minimize energy consumption associated with artificial lighting and HVAC systems. Wireless connectivity facilitates remote supervision, configuration, and performance analytics. The system operates on low-voltage direct current power and may be supplemented by solar energy, with actuation energy utilized only during displacement intervals to conserve power. The invention provides a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and scalable smart shading solution suitable for modern sustainable building environments."
