MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087416 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'armrest assembly for vehicle and vehicle including the armrest assembly.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An armrest assembly (100) comprises an armrest element (110) and a wireless charge interface assembly (130) coupled with the armrest element (110). The wireless charge interface assembly (130) comprises an outer housing (132) coupled to the armrest element (110). The outer housing (132) has a compartment (140) formed by at least one pair of opposing walls (144, 146) and defines a longitudinal axis (X-X') passing through the pair of opposing walls (144, 146). The wireless charge interface assembly (130) further comprises a wireless charge induction coil unit (160) swiveably coupled to and disposed within the compartment (140) of the outer housing (132). The wireless charge induction coil unit (160) is configured to swivel about the longitudinal axis (X-X') of the outer housing (132). Said swivel movement provides better visibility of the mobile device screen to the user, avoid any glare/ reflection on the mobile device screen and ensures privacy."
