MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511010599 A) filed by S. P Trademarks Llp, New Delhi, on Feb. 7, 2025, for 'arecanut substitute composition and process of prepartion thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an arecanut substitute composition for a mouth-freshener comprising of tamarind seed kernel, catechu, and lime. The composition for a mouth-freshener further comprises fine natural flavouring material selected from the group of mulethi, (Licorice), cardamom, turmeric, cinnamon, coriander, fennel, nutmeg, menthol, saffron, and perfume/ or other traditional flavouring agents. The invention also discloses a process of preparation of the composition of a novel mouth freshener."
