MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517124193 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'area-specific on-demand sensing reference signal configurations.'

Inventor(s) include Duan, Weimin; Manolakos, Alexandros; and Akkarakaran, Sony.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a sensing node may receive, from a sensing server, a first on-demand sensing zone-specific reference signal (RS) configuration comprising one or more sets of on-demand sensing RS resources. In some cases, each set of the one or more sets of on-demand sensing RS resources may be associated with a corresponding sensing zone identifier. The sensing node may perform zone-specific sensing RS transmissions on at least one set of the one or more sets of on-demand sensing RS resources."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 26, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/043830.
