Inventor(s) include Praveen Kumar Manoharan; B. Balamurugan; B. Yazhini; M. Sugashini; M. Chithartha; K. Devipriya; M. Gurumoorthi; P. Kesavan; P. Boopathi; and A. Sathyajasmine.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "It introduces an Augmented Reality (AR) system for real-time assistance in physical therapy, using IoT-connected sensors and cloud analytics. Conventional therapy often relies on human oversight, potentially limiting patient involvement and accuracy. Thesystem 5 incorporates wearable sensors to collect biomechanical and physiological data, which is sent over IoT networks to a cloud platform for real-time analysis. Sophisticated algorithms analyse this data to assess joint angles, movement precision, and compliance with workout regimens. The outcomes are presented via an augmented reality interface, offering patients visual feedback, remedial direction, and progress monitoring during treatment sessions. The 10 integration of AR visualisation with IoT-enabled sensors and cloud-based analytics promotes rehabilitation efficacy, fosters patient motivation, and facilitates personalised treatment programs. This method facilitates remote oversight by healthcare providers, diminishing the need for continuous in-person supervision and providing scalable solutions for clinics and home rehabilitation settings. The system showcases the capabilities of data-driven, 15 immersive rehabilitation technology in contemporary healthcare."
