MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044183 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 7, for 'aqua- timer bottle cap : a water -intake tracking device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a titlly mechanical bottle-cap device designed to track daily water intake usmg a manual rotational counting mechanism. The Aqua-Timer Bottle Cap consists of a universal threaded base that fits standard bottles, an outer rotating ring displaying numerical indicators and a one-way ratchet system that advances the counter by a single step each time the user completes a bottle. A spring-loaded pawl locks the ratchet in place to prevent reverse rotation, ensuring accurate and tamper-proof counting throughout the day. A detent click teature provides tactile and audible feedback for each increment enhancing usability and cont!rming the successful advancement of the counter. The cap also teatures a reset slider that disengages the locking mechanism enabling the counter to reset to zero at the start of each new day. The device operates entirely without electronics or batteries providing a low-cost, durable and reliable solution for hydration monitoring suitable for individuals of all ages including students, athletes, older adults and those in lowresource settings."
