MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202423007611 A) filed by Niharika Kolte, Pune, Maharashtra, on Feb. 5, 2024, for 'apparatus for propelling an aerial vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Desai, Amitkumar Raghunath; Sreenivasan, Anjay Subramanian; and Parichha, Antariksh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An apparatus (100) for propelling an aerial vehicle (300). The apparatus (100) comprises a first ring (102) comprising a housing (104). The first ring is fitted on the aerial vehicle (300). Further, a second ring (106) is fitted within the housing (104). The second ring comprises a groove (108) along a circumference of the second ring (106). The groove (108) comprises a first set of magnets. Further, the apparatus (100) comprises a propeller (114) levitating within an area (116) inside the second ring (106). The propeller has magnetic effects caused by coupling a second set of magnets to the propeller (144). The propeller rotates and levitates using the first set of magnets and the second set of magnets."
