MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621030105 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on March 13, for 'apparatus for agricultural pest repulsion and method of operating the apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Dr. Lalji Prasad; Dr. Ati Jain; Vaishnavi Patel; Vandana Rajpoot; and Salvi Kushwah.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An apparatus (100) for agricultural pest repulsion includes a solar photovoltaic panel (102) configured to generate electrical power from solar irradiation and a rechargeable battery (104) electrically coupled to the solar photovoltaic panel (102) through a charge controller (106). A hardware processor (108) operatively couples to the rechargeable battery (104) and is configured to monitor voltage of the rechargeable battery (104). The hardware processor (108) determines a duty cycle of ultrasonic emission based on the monitored voltage of the rechargeable battery (104) and generate frequency-varying pulse-width modulated signals based on the determined duty cycle wherein the frequency-varying pulse-width modulated signals have carrier frequencies in an ultrasonic frequency range. The hardware processor (108) communicates the frequency-varying pulse-width modulated signals to a transducer driver circuit (110) for driving a piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer (112) to emit ultrasonic acoustic waves for agricultural pest repulsion based on the frequency-varying pulse-width modulated signals."
