MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617009943 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 30, for 'apparatus and method for managing battery.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An apparatus for managing a battery, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a measurement unit configured to measure the voltage of a battery charged while repeating charging periods and rest periods; and a control unit configured to calculate the resistance corresponding to each of a plurality of rest periods, generate a first profile indicating a correlation between the SOC of the battery and the resistance, divide an SOC range of the first profile into a plurality of unit sections, and calculate a total resistance of the battery on the basis of reference resistances and weights corresponding to the plurality of unit sections."
