MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647025598 A) filed by Packsys Global Ag, Ruti, Switzerland, on March 4, for 'apparatus and method for forming a tube head by compressing a preform and connecting the tube head to a tube body in order to produce a packaging tube.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming a tube head by compressing a preform (4) and connecting the tube head to a tube body (5) in order to produce a packaging tube, comprising a multi-part shaping tool (1) that forms a first processing station, in particular having a male die (3) and a multi-part female die (2) in which, in an open state, a preform (4) and a tube body (5) can be introduced and which, during a transition into a closed state, shapes the tube head from the preform (4) and produces the connection to the tube body (5), wherein: the shaping tool comprises cooling devices (6), by means of which parts of the shaping tool (1) can be cooled; the shaping tool (1) also comprises an external shoulder part (7) which, in the closed state, is arranged preferably radially outside and adjacent to an axial end portion (23) of the tube body (5); the external shoulder part (7) comprises a heating device (9, 12, 13) which is arranged and designed such that the axial end portion (23) of the tube body (5) is heated when nearing the external shoulder part (7) and/or when contact is made with the external shoulder part (7)."
