MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617020149 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 20, for 'apparatus and method for diagnosing battery.'

Inventor(s) include Choi, Soon-Hyung; Yoon, Seo-Young; and Kim, Young-Deok.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for diagnosing a battery, capable of diagnosing a state of a battery in consideration of overpotential. As the apparatus and method for diagnosing a battery according to the present invention diagnose a state of a battery on the basis of a correction profile in which overpotential is removed from a battery profile, the apparatus and method for diagnosing a battery have an advantage in that charging and discharging at a reference C-rate are not forced in order to diagnose the state of the battery."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 27, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/012782.
