MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517103623 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'apparatus and method for diagnosing battery.'
Inventor(s) include Choi, Soon-Hyung.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method, for diagnosing a battery, which are capable of diagnosing the state of the battery in consideration of an overpotential. Since the apparatus for diagnosing a battery, according to the present invention, diagnoses the state of the battery on the basis of a correction profile which is obtained by removing an overpotential from a battery profile, there is an advantage in that charging and discharging at a reference C-rate are not forced in order to diagnose the state of the battery. That is, since the state of the battery may be diagnosed even when the battery is charged and discharged at a C-rate other than the reference C-rate, the state of the battery may be rapidly diagnosed without restriction on the charging and discharging conditions."
The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 27, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/012785.
