MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441032617 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on April 24, 2024, for 'antioxidant banana stem-based beverage composition and method for preparation thereof.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An antioxidant banana stem-based beverage composition, comprises of banana stem juice in the range of 55-65% by weight, liquorice root extract in the range of 25-35% by weight, prebiotic in the range of 1-3% by weight, vitamin C in the range of 0.1-2% by weight, acidity regulator in the range of 0.1-1% by weight, chia seed in the range of 0.1-2% by weight, cardamom powder in the range of 0.1-1% by weight, tender coconut powder in the range of 8-12% by weight. A method for preparation of the antioxidant banana stem-based beverage comprises: washing banana stem, cutting into small pieces, and grinding, followed by filtering using muslin cloth to obtain stem juice, boiling root with water at 50-60oC, cooling to obtain root extract, mixing the stem juice with root extract and adding prebiotic, vitamin C, chia seeds, cardamom powder, and tender coconut powder to obtain the antioxidant banana stem-based beverage."
