MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517057066 A) filed by Aerochemica Dr. Deppe Gmbh, Kempen, Germany, on June 13, for 'antimicrobial compound, process for preparing same and use of the antimicrobial compound for preparing a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides an antimicrobial compound having formula (I), wherein R1 is an alkyl substituent having 4 to 18 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl substituent having 5 to 12 carbon atoms or a (poly)alkylene glycol substituent having 1 to 6 alkoxy units or a phenyl substituent or a benzyl substituent, and R2 is an alkyl group having 2 or 3 or 4 carbon atoms, and n is an integer from 1 to 15, and [2A-] means two monovalent anions (2 A-) or one divalent anion (A2-). Further disclosed are a process for preparing the antimicrobial compound, use thereof, and a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition."
