MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124414 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'antidiabetic and anticoagulant drug.'
Inventor(s) include Sulochana Govindharaj; Rajeshkumar Shanmugam; and Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present study reports a green synthesis procedure for iron oxide nanoparticles (FesOsNPs) from aquatic Momordica charantia leaf extract, a medicinal herb with proved pharmacologically active. The FeaOsNPs were prepared and characterized by standard physicochemical techniques to ensure their formation and stability. In vitro biomedical evaluations were conducted to establish their antidiabetic activity using alpha amylase and glucosidase activity and anticoagulant activity. The FezOjNPs exhibited moderate antidiabetic activity against alpha amylase and glucosidase activity. The results implicated that M. charantia-vatdxdXcd Fe2O3NPs exhibit multifunctional bioactivities, towards their application as eco-friendly nanotherapeutic agents to diabetic disease and anticoagulant agent. Mechanism of action and in vivo efficacy studies need to be assayed in future research."
