MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441061444 A) filed by Wittur Holdings Gmbh, Bayern, Germany, on Aug. 13, 2024, for 'antiderailment locking device for elevator door panels.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Anti-derailment locking device for elevator door panels. The device (100) comprising of a horizontal unit (1) configured at the bottom portion of the elevator door panel (f) via. fasteners or welding. A vertical unit (2) that is perpendicular to the horizontal unit (1) wherein the vertical unit (2) connects the horizontal unit (1) and a second horizontal unit (3) that is parallel to the horizontal unit (1) forming a retainer unit (110) of the derailment locking device (100). Two bend reliefs (4) configured on either side of the retainer unit (110) wherein the bend reliefs (4) have a plurality of holes to configure the derailment locking device (100) at the bottom portion of the elevator door panel. The derailment locking device (100) gets locked at the sill portion (D) thereby preventing the derailment of the elevator doors due to any external impact or force on the elevator door panel (f)."
