MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421013295 A) filed by Bharat Serums And Vaccines Limited, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'antibodies against klebsiella pneumoniae and implementations thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Jacob, Jaby; Fernandes, Aldon; Murzello, Kripa; Patil, Pooja; Prashant, Poojadevi; and Dr Somnath Chakravorty.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides with a process for obtaining an antigen binding protein or an antibody against Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) by 5 immunizing equines with an antigen formulation which comprises a pool of K. pneumoniae strains and an adjuvant. The disclosure further provides an antigen binding protein against K. pneumoniae obtained by the said process, a composition comprising the antigen binding protein and application of the antigen binding protein and the composition in treatment, diagnosis and 10 detection. The disclosure also provides a combination therapy or a combination of the antigen binding protein or an antibody and an antibiotic."
