MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641007200 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 24, for 'animatronic hand control system and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Sakthivel V; Anurag Kumar Kanojiya; and Prakash P.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for controlling an animatronic hand (102) capable of accurately replicating human hand gestures (106) in real time may include an image capture unit (104) to capture image data representing hand gestures (106) of a user (108) and an executable connection management module (110). The executable connection management module (110) may process the captured image data, via a gesture recognition executable module, to determine finger movement parameters. The determined parameters may be encoded, via a message generation executable module, into standardized control messages and published within a robotic communication framework. The animatronic hand (102) includes multiple finger members (126) actuated by a plurality of servo motors (110), and a controller (120) to receive the control messages, translate them into servo motor control signals to actuate the servo motors (118), and publish feedback indicative of current servo motor positions to enable closed-loop gesture replication with improved accuracy and responsiveness."
