MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611053787 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 28, for 'an oxygen-independent cell culture method for hypoxic studies.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Lovely; and Dr. Dolly Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An oxygen-independent cell culture system for hypoxic studies includes a culture vessel assembly (101) having a cell culture chamber (102), an oxygen-modulating chamber (103), and a diffusion-regulating interface (104) therebetween. The oxygen-modulating chamber (103) contains an oxygen-consuming composition that reduces oxygen adjacent to the interface (104), causing oxygen to diffuse from the cell culture chamber (102) and thereby creating a localized hypoxic microenvironment. A support frame (105), access port arrangement (106), and oxygen-state monitoring unit (107) improve controllability, analytical access, and reproducibility under normoxic incubator conditions."
