MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521128150 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 17, 2025, for 'an orthodontic device method of preparation and its utility thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Present invention discloses an orthodontic wax releasing device (100) comprising an outer cylindrical body (101), a wax cartridge chamber (102), a spring-loaded plunger (103), a nozzle (104), a removable cap (105), and a pocket clip (106). The device is designed for hygienic, controlled application of orthodontic wax, with a compact size of 90-110 mm in length and 5-7 mm in diameter. It features a transparent window to visually confirm wax levels, and the spring-loaded plunger ensures precise delivery of wax through the nozzle. The device is portable, easy to use, and allows for efficient wax application with a simple method of operation, including the ability to replace the wax cartridge for continued use."
