MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421037499 A) filed by Nanda Gargi; and Bharadia Praful Dhanji, Vadodara, Gujarat, on May 13, 2024, for 'an oral self-micro-emulsifying pharmaceutical composition of a hydrophilic drug.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to an oral self-micro-emulsifying pharmaceutical composition of a hydrophilic drug. The present invention is particularly related to an oral self-micro-emulsifying pharmaceutical composition of a hydrophilic drug comprising at least one hydrophilic drug or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active agent, an oil, a surfactant system comprising surfactant and co-surfactant, and hydrophilic carrier material and process for preparing the same. The invention intended to enhance bioavailability with increased permeability, without affecting its solubility, and useful in treating type 2 diabetes."
