MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521124233 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'an oral prebiotic composition, and its utility thereof.'

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an oral prebiotic composition for ocular health, comprising Phyllanthus embellica, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellirica, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. The said composition includes these ingredients in equal proportions and is administered orally in the form of tablets or capsules. The dosage ranges from about 500 mg to 1000 mg per day, with administration once or twice daily over a period of 3-5 weeks preferably 4 weeks. This composition is intended for modulating ocular microbiota and addressing allergic conjunctivitis through the gut-eye axis."
