MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009023 A) filed by Dr. R. Nithyatharani; Dr. M. Balachandar; Mr. Balavinayagamani G; Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi; Ms. Sakthipriya M; Shaikh Zarina Moin; and Ayesha Meraj, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 29, for 'an optimized process for lactic acid production using non-commercial fermented dairy substrates.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system (100) includes a optimized process for lactic acid production using non-commercial fermented dairy substrates comprising a substrate collection unit (102), a substrate pretreatment unit (104), a fermentation unit (106), a microbial culture management unit (108), a process monitoring and control unit (110), and a lactic acid recovery and purification unit (112), wherein the substrate collection unit (102) gathers fermented dairy substrates, the substrate pretreatment unit (104) conditions the substrates, the fermentation unit (106) converts substrates into lactic acid, the microbial culture management unit (108) maintains microbial activity, the process monitoring and control unit (110) optimizes fermentation conditions, and the lactic acid recovery and purification unit (112) isolates purified lactic acid. The invention enhances sustainable resource utilization and promotes efficient lactic acid production from non-commercial dairy substrates."
