MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547097406 A) filed by Signify Holding B. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Oct. 9, for 'an led driving arrangement.'

Inventor(s) include Fu, Jie; Chen, Zhiquan; Zhou, Haiying; and Wang, Gang.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is driving arrangement for LED lighting that adaptively adjusts output voltage of a power factor correction (PFC) circuit to improve total harmonic distortion (THD), improve efficiency, and extend dimming performance. More particularly, the PFC circuit and an auxiliary switched mode power supply (SMPS) with outputs connected in series superimposes their outputs to a load, the PFC circuit also changes its output amplitude modulation modes responsive to an input rectified AC voltage in a sub-optimal range which can not satisfy an operating condition, between the rectified AC voltage and the PFC output voltage, of the PFC circuit. Accordingly, with the changed output amplitude modulation the operating condition is satified and the PFC circuit may maintain normal operation for a larger amount of time in the cycle of the rectified AC input voltage. And the auxiliary switched mode power supply also changes its output amplitude modulation modes and helps to keep the total output to the load constant."

The patent application was internationally filed on May 08, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/062678.
