MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064334 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on May 21, for 'an iot-integrated digital twin system for dynamic shelf-life prediction and energy-efficient cold storage operation.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Udutha Rajender; Dr. Ch. Rajendra Prasad; and Prof. Oluwakemi C. Abikoye.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is an IoT-integrated digital twin system (100) for dynamic shelf-life prediction and energy-efficient cold storage operation, the system (100) comprises a cold storage chamber (102) equipped with distributed IoT sensing modules (104). An IoT controller unit (106) based on ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or equivalent processors transmits sensor data. An edge and cloud processing module (108) performs data filtering, normalization, synchronization, and outlier removal. A digital twin engine (110) creates a real-time virtual replica of the cold storage chamber. A machine learning prediction module (112) including LSTM, Random Forest, and XGBoost predict remaining shelf life, spoilage probability, and anomaly conditions. Explainable AI modules (114) using SHAP and LIME provide interpretable prediction reasoning. An adaptive refrigeration control module (116) dynamically regulates cooling and airflow for optimized energy efficiency, while an anomaly detection and alert generation module (118) and a remote monitoring module (120) monitoring enable intelligent cold storage management."
