MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024874 A) filed by Vivekanandan Karthi, Erode, Tamil Nadu, on March 2, for 'an iot-enabled system designed to monitor refrigerator performance in real time and protect the compressor from electrical and thermal faults.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Sathishkumar; Ms. S. Amudha; Nanthini P; Vidhya. N; N. Vijayakumar; Vigneshwaran. K; Dr L Anbarasu; Dr. P. Tamilvani; and K Sarenyadhevi.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This project presents the design and implementation of an IoT-enabled refrigerator monitoring and compressor protection system. The system continuously monitors critical parameters such as temperature, electrical load, refrigerant leakage, and door status using a combination of sensors and an ESP32 microcontroller. Data is transmitted in real time to a cloud platform for remote monitoring and analysis. The system detects abnormal operating conditions, issues alerts, and can take protective actions to prevent compressor damage. The proposed design enhances energy efficiency, ensures food safety, extends appliance lifespan, and enables predictive maintenance through data logging and IoT connectivity."
