MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421027846 A) filed by G. H. Raisoni College Of Engineering; and G. H. R. Labs And Research Centre, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on April 4, 2024, for 'an iot based automated hydroponics system.'

Inventor(s) include Rutvij Vasant Jalamkar; Neel Ramteke; Ajinkya Manwatkar; Jitendra Prithviraj; Ashakti Rautkar; and Madhuri Sahu.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an IOT based automated hydroponics system represents a groundbreaking innovation in agricultural technology, seamlessly integrating hydroponics with advanced IOT capabilities. This system eliminates the need for soil by nourishing plants with nutrient-rich water solutions in a controlled environment. Integrated sensors continuously monitor crucial parameters such as temperature, humidity, pH levels, nutrition, water levels, and light intensity. Microcontrollers process real-time data from these sensors and activate actuators like pumps, valves, and fans to maintain optimal growth conditions for the plants. An IOT gateway facilitates communication between sensors and the central control unit, enabling seamless data transmission and remote monitoring and control via smartphones or PCs. By leveraging data-driven analysis and AI-based technologies, this system enhances productivity, resource optimization, and sustainability in food production. Overall, the automated hydroponics system using IOT offers a promising solution for maximizing crop yields, conserving resources, and promoting eco-friendly farming practices."
