MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132181 A) filed by Hanvaan Lifestyles Private Limited, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'an inter-locking system for detachable connection between footwear sole and upper strap.'
Inventor(s) include Siddartha Silveri; and Ganesh Kudichetti.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a detachable interlocking system (100) for connecting an upper strap to a footwear sole using an internal mechanical locking assembly. The system includes a female T-slot housing (102) embedded within the sole and a male T-block (104) fixed to the upper strap. Inside the housing, a slider (106) is guided by a straight pin (110) and biased forward by a spring (108) to create an automatic locking action. During insertion, the male T-block (104) pushes the slider (106) rearward, and upon full seating, the spring (108) returns the slider forward to lock behind the T-block. A U-bent wire form (112) provides secondary safety locking by preventing backward movement of the slider. The system enables convenient strap replacement, secure retention during use, and optional sealing support using Velcro or magnets to protect the internal components."
