According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The rapid expansion of digital payment systems has significantly transformed the financial ecosystem, with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) emerging as one of the most widely used platforms for real-time transactions. Its ease of use, speed, and accessibility have accelerated adoption across diverse user groups. However, this growth has also led to a substantial increase in fraudulent activities, including unauthorized transactions, phishing attacks, identity theft, and social engineering scams. These challenges highlight the urgent need for advanced, intelligent fraud detection mechanisms capable of operating in real time while maintaining high accuracy and reliability. This research focuses on the development of UPI Sentinel, a robust fraud detection system designed to enhance the security of UPI transactions through the application of hybrid machine learning techniques. A comprehensive study was conducted to analyse existing fraud detection approaches, identify their limitations, and understand emergin."
