MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421017475 A) filed by Jsw Steel Limited, Maharashtra, on March 11, 2024, for 'an integrated system for cooling hot products including reduction roasted products and hot gases and simultaneous cleaning and burning of combustible gases.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Vignesh Veeramani; Mr. Kunal Blahatia; Mr. Siddaraju; Mr. Mrunmaya Kumar Pasupalak; Dr. Rameshwar Sah; and Dr. Dhiren Kumar Panda.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an integrated system / apparatus/ device for cooling reduction roastedproducts including iron ore fines/slime / iron ore tailings and hot gases from a fluidized bed reactor. The system comprises of aninlet chamber, an outlet chamber,screw shaft, bearing housing, electric motor, motor support, primary water supply, secondary water supply, gas burner mounted on a vertical uptake above inlet chamber and a support frame to support the cooler unit wherein solid particulate materials along with gas enter and get cooled by primary and secondary water inlets respectively, and slurry exits through the outlet whereas gas exits through the vertical uptake. The unreacted or combustible gases are combusted using gas burner at the top of vertical uptake. The present apparatus has an advantage of cooling solids along with cleaning and burning of combustible gases in a single apparatus."
