MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521126936 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'an integrated real-time haptic feedback insole system.'

Inventor(s) include Khade, Khyati; Saini, Seema; Sangaonkar, Mrudula; Tejani, Neelam; and Palekar, Tushar J.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and method for providing real-time proprioceptive feedback are disclosed. The system includes an ultra-thin, multi-zone pressure sensor architecture that detects abnormal pressure or asymmetry and generates pressure data. A separate ankle module (100) processes this data and generates haptic feedback, which is delivered through integrated haptic actuators. These actuators provide immediate vibration cues corresponding to biomechanical events, aiding in feedback, proprioception retraining, and neuromuscular learning. The system is designed to improve athletic performance and rehabilitation, featuring a thin, removable insole (103) and a slim form factor enabled by the separate ankle module (100)."
