MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521091604 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Maharashtra, on Sept. 24, for 'an injectable hydrogel for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, and method of preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An injectable hydrogel for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, and method of preparation thereof. An injectable hydrogel for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, method of preparation thereof is disclosed herein. The hydrogel, according to embodiments herein includes a crosslinked network of gelatin and oxidized dextran along with therapeutic nanoparticles. In one embodiment, the hydrogel is biocompatible and safe to use with prolonged release of nanoparticles. Embodiments herein also provide a method for preparing an injectable hydrogel for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis."
