MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411008778 A) filed by Vivek Verma, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 9, 2024, for 'an improved process for juice heating with condensate.'

Inventor(s) include Vivek Verma.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a novel process and method for juice heating with condensate in sugar manufacturing is described. The raw juice of sugarcane or beet of low temperature is taken in raw juice mixing tank (100) where cold liming is done in the tank. The mixed raw juice then transfers through raw juice transfer pump (101) in countercurrent manner with hot condensate where raw juice is heated in the series numbers of raw juice heaters (102) used in the juice heating process. Cold lime raw juice mixing tank (100) is used for missing lime with raw cane juice at room temperature. The cold limed raw juice of higher temperature after heating with hot condensate in the numbers of raw juice heaters (102), the raw juice is taken for hot liming in hot lime mixing tank (103) and again mixed in the raw juice mainstream processing line with hot lime juice transfer pump (104) for further heating in defecation juice heaters (105). In the DJ heaters (105), the limed raw juice is again heated with hot condensate coming from the condensate flashing system or CIGAR (109) of high temperature through hot condensate transfer pump (108). The limed juice is then fed to the direct contact heater (DCH) (106) for further heating and taken into juice clarifier (107) for juice clarification. The cold condensate from the last raw juice heaters (102) is sent to the water heaters (110) for gaining the temperature where condensate in heated with last effect vapours of evaporators or pans and then heated condensate is flashed into the condensate flashing chambers (109) in the condensate heat recovery system. The system reduces steam and power demand in boiling houses and increases plant operating capacity with best quality sugar output with higher extraction efficiency."
