MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202423077196 A) filed by Ipca Laboratories Limited, Maharashtra, on Oct. 11, 2024, for 'an improved method for preparation of azido and nitroso impurities free losartan potassium.'

Inventor(s) include Bhattacharyya, Pabitrakumar Kalipada; Khan, Afzal Yousuf; Chandrawat, Karan Pratap Singh; and Pal, Virendra Rameshchandra.

The process of the present invention involves a reductive reaction at vigorous reflux conditions using an inorganic substance that substantially reduces the undesired impurities."
