MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431077641 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, New Delhi, on Oct. 14, 2024, for 'an improved fixture to facilitate easy and safe removal of the fixture after welding.'

Inventor(s) include Saravanan Periyannan; Naba Kumar Das; Balan Mahalingam; Muralidharan Ganesan; and Dineshkumar Paramasivam.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an improved fixture to facilitate easy and safe removal of the fixture following welding. The Fixture comprises of beam (1), which connects the holding portion and lifting portion. The beam (1) is provided with Hooks (2) at the top thereof for lifting purpose. There is provision of a coverage box (3) according to the pitch between the two Top lugs (L) together with a fastener (5). Further, two gusset and support plates (4) are provided at two ends so as to support another fastener (5) on both sides adjacent to each of the lugs (L). It involves Holding the plate as per dimension, Lifting, Distortion control using the fixture of invention. It accomplishes safe removal of fixture after welding without damaging the fixture, which enables reuse of the fixture."
