MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087807 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'an ice making assembly in a refrigerator.'

Inventor(s) include Singh Amit Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[0025] An assembly (100) for making ice in a refrigerator is provided. The assembly (100) includes an ice tray (102) to facilitate formation of ice cubes, an ice guide (104) to receive the ice tray (102) and a nozzle (106) to supply cold air into the ice guide (104). Further, the ice guide (104) includes a linear first guide way (112) to facilitate formation of the ice cubes and a concave second guide way (114) to facilitate removal of the ice cubes. Further, the ice tray (102) is inserted into the first guide way (112) with water for the formation of ice cubes and the ice tray (102) is inverted and inserted into the second guide way (114) for the removal of the ice cubes, the cold air from nozzle (106) flows along the first guide way (112) and facilitate in faster ice formation in the ice tray (102)."
