MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421035407 A) filed by Bajaj Auto Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 4, for 'an exhaust system for a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Jatin Kumar Mangal; Chandrashekhar Bhalerao; Deepak Deshmukh; Shrikant Utpat; and Sivakumar G.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an exhaust system for a vehicle. The exhaust system comprising an engine as a drive source for the vehicle and an exhaust pipe (102) connected to the engine to carry gases into the atmosphere. Further, the exhaust pipe (102) comprising at least a first pipe portion (108) extending from an exhaust port of the engine, a second pipe portion (110) connected to a muffler (104) and a catalytic converter (CAT) (106) for purifying the exhaust gases and configured to carry exhaust gases from the first pipe portion (108) to the second pipe portion (110). Further, the CAT (106) is connected to the first pipe portion (108) using at least a connecting member (112). The connecting member (112) overlapping at least an inner portion of catalytic converter (122)."
