MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411076037 A) filed by Shoolini University Of Biotechnology And Management Sciences, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Oct. 8, 2024, for 'an evolutionary emission monitoring system for diesel vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Raj Kumar Saini; and Dr. Ravinder Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces an advanced monitoring system designed to help diesel vehicles manage and reduce harmful emissions. Furthermore, the system integrates key components, including emission sensors, a central control unit, a dashboard interface, a warning system, and a vehicle control module. It continuously monitors emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter 15 (PM), comparing them against regulatory limits. If emissions exceed safe levels, the system provides both audible and visual warnings, allowing the driver to address the issue within a 50-kilometer grace period. Overall, these advanced sensors, including electrochemical and zirconia-based NOx sensors, ensure accurate detection of pollutants and enhance environmental protection, vehicle 20 safety, and compliance with emission regulations."
