MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521113598 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'an ergonomic kitchen utensil.'

Inventor(s) include Shreya BS; and Tanmayee Puntambekar.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an ergonomic kitchen utensil (100) comprising a handle body (102) and a utensil head (104). The handle body (102) is contoured to match the natural curvature of the user's palm, featuring a widened midsection, thumb rest, and finger indentations to enhance comfort and control. The handle body (102) is inclined upward relative to the utensil head (104), maintaining a neutral wrist posture during use. The outer surface includes a textured or elastomeric coating to prevent slipping. The ergonomic kitchen utensil (100) configuration ensures balanced weight distribution, ambidextrous usability, and reduced wrist strain during prolonged cooking and serving operations."
